About the Author
Evan Marshall is a Special Weapons and Tactics trainer for a federal agency with counterterrorist responsibilities. He retired from the Detroit Police Department after 20 years of service. His assignments included Tactical Unit, Crime Scene Investigation, Homicide and the Special Response Team. He has trained groups as diverse as the Federal Air Marshals and the U.S. Army Special Reaction Team. His articles on ammunition, ballistics and tactics have appeared in the law enforcement and firearms press over the past 25 years.
Cpl. Ed Sanow is the senior reserve deputy and a 14-year veteran with the Benton County, Indiana, Sheriff's Department. He is a Team Leader with the Benton County Multiagency Response Team and the field training officer for the reserve force. Sanow is the author of more than 1,000 articles on ammunition and stopping power. In October 2000, he became the editor of Law and Order magazine

I've read it twice.

This is the most recent version Evan P. Marshall and Edwin J. Sanow's series of books on the stopping power of ammunition available today.
Although the ballistic information can get repetitive and boring. It is very good information to have when deciding what to get, assuming you can find it during the current shortages, for what ever purpose you plan.
The most interesting part I found was the real life accounts. Although my copy that I ordered was missing the end of one story and the beginning of another. Paladin Press was very kind when I reported this to them. They sent me a second copy with the complete stories in it. And, a $25.00 gift card as well.
I think if you want to know about the ballistic qualities of ammunition to stop an attacker you can not do better than this book.

WOW! POW!! BAM!!

I am stunned by the study and controversy of ammo ballistics. TV has done us a severe injustice by showing bad guys always getting blown to smithereens with a single shot. It is not so. The truth comes out in this book. Everyone, even those who hate guns must read this to see how hard people work to make handguns, not safer but more effective. I am glad the police now have the .357 Sig and the .40 Smith & Wesson bullets in their weapons.

Stopping power

Very good book with good pictures and illustrations and does a good analysis of the wide variety of modern ammunition.
I am no expert, so, I buy a book like this. There are others, but, this appears to have a lot of the history of the science and still include information on modern up to date ammunition.
