Sometimes we must choose our own family...

I admit I found this story very intriguing as I imagined the appeal of a badass biker to a very innocent sheltered young girl. As the author placed me inside her head I struggled, reminding myself that her limited life experience and immaturity is realistic and that I can't expect her to react the same as someone who was raised differently. While some may consider the age difference between them to be an issue, the fact is that she was an adult when she ran to him for protection. I can understand the war raging within Liam as he was faced with the maturity of her body and the attraction they felt for each other. He knew she had no relationship or life experiences and he fought his desire to claim her for himself. He really earned my respect as an MC president in the way that he handled things, even the outlaw side of things. I must admit this was a different view of MC life for me. It takes place in a very small town and the lifestyle and club activities are similar but different. Especially the 'family style' meals the brothers and their women shared. And lets not forget "The Family", the religious sect that kept Faith so isolated and controlled for her whole life until she escaped. They would certainly give you a screwed up idea of what a true family is. How hard it must have been for Faith to open her mind up to an easy-going, free biker lifestyle after being raised in such a strict, prison-like environment. What a conflicting experience that must have been, right? And did I mention that she got her first glimpse of Liam when she was 14 yrs old when he showed up to see her father. Yup, he made a very lasting impression that stayed with her, in her thoughts, and in her fantasies. And that's not all, there is danger and suspense too. How far will Liam be willing to go to keep her safe and hidden from "The Family" member that wants her back? Will Faith be able to come to terms with the outlaw club business that goes against everything she has been taught? Can she learn to listen to her heart instead of her head? Is she strong enough to fight for what she feels, in spite of what she knows? And don't tell anyone where you heard it, but the rumor is that the Prez likes it rough. Just imagine how HARD it must be when her natural tendency is to respond with, "yes, sir." (wink-wink)

my kinda book

Faith lives in a fundamentalist Christian religious community known as The Family. We all know the type, the women all wear long dresses, hair a certain way, forced to marry young, no choices in life. The Family’s compound is at one end of a small, quiet town. At the other end of the town is a different compound, the Horsemen MC compound. The two groups stay out of each other’s way, that is until one day when one of its members decides she no longer wants to be a part of ‘The Family” any more. Lucky for her, her best friend happens to be the daughter of the president’s best friend.
“I am a dirty f@#king biker. You were safe from me when I felt paternal and protective over you. Now that we are going here, you’re gonna find out just how f@#ing dirty I am. I am going to make you as filthy as me.”
Oh My God in heaven, Liam is a big ball of hotness wrapped up in an anti-hero shell. Half the time I want to smack him upside his head, the other half of the time I want to ravage him in bed, or against the wall, or over a table, well, you get the idea. I really enjoyed this book, which is obvious since I read it in one day; I just couldn’t put it down. I was sad to see it end and even sadder that it is a true stand alone, no other books about this MC that I can tell. I give this book 5 stars with 4 hands down the pants. Sometimes, you have no choice of who you fall in love with!

Faith lives in a typical small country town, it has everything any other small town has, a mayor, town council and police department.
But these groups don’t hold the power.
The two groups in town that hold all the power is “The Family”, a large religious sect and “The Iron Horsemen” an outlaw bikie gang.
What are the chances of two people from either sides meeting and falling in love? Faith’s father is the leader of The Family.
He’s strict, controlling and has arranged a marriage for his daughter.
Liam is the president of the iron horsemen.
He is in control, and under his guidance, things get done…….quick.
Faith needs to escape her only way of life and who better than Liam??
In this book, which read like journal entries, we learn that opposites certainly do attract and that while we are busy helping others, we are also sometimes helping ourselves.
A quick and fairly easy read, even if the ending was rather predictable.
