About the Author
Courtney Smith Kramer is the co-founder and Executive Creative Director for PureMatter, and is proud to be one of the 3% of female creative directors in the United States. An accomplished creative strategist, storyteller, writer and designer, she has earned hundreds of creative awards and jurors creative competitions across the county. She has a wicked dirty sense of humor and swears like a sailor but has to be serious (mostly) for her job. Her first book, "21 Reasons Creativity is Like Sex," launched in Fall 2016.

A spoonful of adult humor helps the practical advice go down

Courtney Smith Kramer is Tom Cruise to my Cuba Gooding Jr., and she's got me shouting “show me the money!” right back at her through my kitchen cordless with this one.
Courtney slips straight-up real talk and data from science and anecdotes from actual people—who also know what they're taking about and also probably like being creative and having sex and social things—into a handsome package, sweetened with that's-what-she-saids and playful and jokes that any respectable teenage boy would snicker at too.
The author’s words poke each of us in the shoulder with a stern, unbent, Uncle Sam-looking index finger to say, “you're so money and don't even know or remember it, lady or man!!” and we don't feel the pain because we're still reeling at [peaceful, penis-fencing monkeys or “soft-handed windshield wiper action” or organizing a gynecocratic revolution or buying new loudspeakers].

You had me at "That's what she said"

I have a stack of books to read but I fast-tracked this book to the top of the list and read it right away. Courtney is the voice in my head when it comes to #ThatsWhatSheSaid; add in the massive amounts of facts, theories and concepts and you get this book. I have a critical thinking mind but have always had an aversion to the word "creativity" as I can't draw my way out of a paper bag or color within the lines. Kudos to Courtney for drawing parallels between creativity and sex; each chapter is an eye-opener and a mind-bender on how to jump start your creative mind. I feel smarter & inspired after reading "21 Reasons Creativity Is Like Sex" - isn't that the goal of any book?!

One Reason I Like Twenty-One Reasons

Iconoclastically creative Courtney Smith Kramer lures us into her world with the promise of a giggle and a bit of titillation, and then keeps us there. We find ourselves staying for the delight, the wit, the love of the topic. While others might have written the definitive tome on the subject, CSK uses her creativity to further reinforce her ideas. Breeze over a chapter, come back, go deeper, skim, repeat. It doesn’t matter how you attack her work and that is the beauty of her style. She proves her point on creativity by her very expression of it. It is beautifully pointed out that it is not linear and it is not metered. Creativity can be channeled and directed, if you know how. These ideas benefit not only those who consider themselves creative, but anyone who desires to find the best outcome to their obstacles. Without a doubt, this book will fully exercise your biggest sex organ (That would be your brain. Pervert!)
